TTC Senior Emergency Planner Jobs Requirements:-

  • Completion of a university degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline (Emergency Management, Public Administration, Public Safety etc.) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Multiple years of relevant progressive experience, in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emergency management standards and regulations such as CSA Z1600;
  • Experience in emergency management program development and delivery, including development, implementation and management of emergency management policies, processes and plans, risk mitigation, contingency planning, and emergency preparedness and response;
  • Experience in managing/supporting dynamic critical emergency events, along with the ability to navigate through ambiguous and/or rapidly evolving situations, often with limited information;
  • Good working knowledge of related disciplines such as enterprise risk management, business continuity, and health, safety and environment;
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills, critical thinking and judgement;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, influence, resolve conflict, and problem solve;
  • Strong customer service excellence with demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders, employees, divisions, outside agencies, within a large and complex environment;
  • Demonstrated project management skills;
  • Self-motivated with ability to accomplish tasks with limited supervision;
  • Sound knowledge of relevant standards, principles, industry best practices and provincial and federal legislation with respect to emergency management, including the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act;
  • Good organizational and administrative skills;
  • Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and software applications, including presentations, databases, spreadsheets, word processing and any emergency management digital platform;
  • Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
